Our Hen House breakfasts are legendary-even guests with the heartiest appetites leave our table replete and need little to eat until tea time.                                     To start there are cereals or chilled fruit compote (in harvest time we serve our own stewed apples with crystallised ginger),fruit juice & steaming pots of tea or coffee .

Our Cornish farmhouse platter comprises of local hand made sausage,back bacon rashers,  sauted potatoes with onions and herbs served with mushrooms, tomatoes(our own cherry ones in season), baked beans, our own eggs cooked just as you like them and home-made bread  with butter(no plastic portions here then!)

Our fish platter in a filet of local oak poached smoked haddock or hake served with our herby sauted potatoes with onion, mushrooms, baked beans, and tomatoes.  Accompanied again by our own eggs cooked as you prefer and home made bread 

 Our third breakfast choice is a continental platter of chorizo,salami,bavarian ham sliced gouda, emmental and brie cheeses served with fresh and sun-dried tomatoes, hard boiled egg, olives, gherkins and garden herbs .With home made bread and butter Our own preserves include lemon and marrow curd and apple and blackberry jam  served with hot toast to finish                                                                             We source most breakfast supplies as locally as possible.The milk is from Roskilly's just a mile away, the bread and jams are home made and the eggs from our own chickens and the hand made sausages and bacon are from a local Helston butcher

The potatoes are from local farms and herbs are from the garden.           Our Smoked fish is bought direct from Turners fishmongers in Newlyn. When it comes to eggs its food yards rather than food miles. Our chicken provide the richest yellow yolked eggs for breakfasts.As do out brood of 6 ducks.We grow as much of our own fruit and vegetables as we have time to tend

EATING OUT                                                                                                          There are many wonderful places to eat around The Lizard peninsula to suit all tastes and budgets.We test out as many as we can so we can advise you best.Many of them are dog friendly should you be staying with four legged friends                                3 minutes by car or 20 minutes walk you will find our nearest pub,The Five Pilchards,in the fishing cove of Porthallow (www.porthallowcove.com)which serves local beers and ciders and fabulous local food cooked by one of the graduates from Jamie Olivers Fifteen Cornwall restaurant.                                                                       5 minutes by car St.Keverne village has The Greenhouse Organic Restaurant,The White Hart and The Three Tuns Pubs.Just beyond the square you will find Roskillys Farm with many local ice creams,delicious pasties,hearty soups and home made cakes There are barbeques and live music in the summer months.                                       10 minutes by car is the nearby village of Manaccan famed for its fig tree growing out of the church steeple.Here you will find The New Inn and South Cafe          Within 15 minutes by car there is The Prince of Wales in Newtown and our own favourite,The Ship Inn at Mawgan.                                                                        In Coverack there is the Lifeboat House,The Wave Cafe, Harbour Lights Cafe,The Paris Hotel and The Bay Hotel.Central in the peninsula there is The New Yard restaurant at Trelowwaren and on the west The Halzephron Inn .                    Cadgwith,also 15 minutes away has The Cove Inn and The Cellars Restaurant               At a distance of 20 minutes Lizard village has to offer The Polpeor Cafe,The Smugglers Fish and Chip take-away,The Witchbowl, The Top House, Coast Cafe and The Regent Cafe.In Porthlevan which is 20 minutes in Helston direction we have Kota,The Lugger,The Blue Haze,The Corner Deli,Amelies Smokehouse,The Ship Inn,The Harbour Inn,Spindrift Cafe and Nauti but Ice cafe
